RECYCLING/WASTE DISPOSAL POLICY ON SITE
Wales aims to become a zero-waste nation by 2050.
To align with this goal, in 2009 the Welsh Government launched its Scheme for Sustainable Development, in which the target was outlined to increase recycling rates to 70% by 2025.
By law, from 6th April 2024 all businesses have to separate Waste as per the policy. To ensure we comply we have provided separate bins by type as follows. There are signs by the designated bins & crates to assist you.
1. Glass – Any glass bottle or jar can only be placed in the plastic crates.
2. Plastics/Metal Tins, Drinks Cans & Cartons – In these bins go all plastic bottles, Tubs, Pots & Trays, Plastic Wrapping, Plastic Bags, tins,
Drinks Cans and Cartons – This also includes tin foil, empty aerosols,
3. All Paper and Cardboard - Please place ‘loose’ into the marked bins.
All clean cardboard boxing must be broken down before placing in the bin.
Heavily soiled food cardboard must go into general waste.
4. Food Waste – Please put all food waste in the marked bin.
5. General Waste – Paper Towels, Stained Cardboard & Paper, Black
Plastics, Crisp Packets, Chocolate & Sweet Wrappers plus any other items not recyclable as listed above.
Please use your own bags/tubs to separate the waste before going to the bin area. It may be easier to take more trips than normal as the days of putting everything into one bag no longer applies!
We really appreciate your cooperation and support to help us ensure that we comply with the changes – It’s almost the same as being at home!
Thank you – Nigel and Maria
